Towards a « Uniform U-3ARC », across Africa

U-3ARC, a professional and pan-African organization through and through, continues to carry out solidarity initiatives and structure Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector in Africa and the world. Taking advantage of the fulfillment of a promise made at the Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ouagadougou on Friday, January 9, 2026, it took a significant step towards standardizing the Uniform of the African Refrigeration Technician.

Like many professional groups, such as doctors and lawyers, U-3ARC plans to introduce a standardized uniform for African Refrigeration Technicians. This green uniform with pockets will be ergonomically designed with standardized pockets and will include the logos of the national association, the company, and U-3ARC’s. It will be a further symbol of a profession that is becoming more structured in Africa and around the world. This uniform is currently being launched.

Towards a « Uniform U-3ARC », across Africa

“During the 1st CIVUFA (International Conference on the Popularization of Refrigeration in Africa), held on November 12, 2025, in Ouagadougou, Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs honored this milestone event for U-3ARC with its presence. A visit by member organizations was then conducted at the Ministry headquarters. The air conditioning equipment was found to be in need of maintenance. We then promised to return for a free maintenance operation,” recalls Madi Sakandé, President of U-3ARC.

This promise was kept on Friday, January 9, 2025. “All wearing U-3ARC lab coats, some 42 technicians, members of the APFC (Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Professionals) of Burkina Faso, worked in their official uniforms to maintain and repair all the equipment at the Ministry headquarters. A simple yet powerful gesture,” added the President of U-3ARC.

A Blouse, a Branding Symbol

The widely held opinion among members is that this blouse is more than just a uniform. It goes beyond that. For those who champion the idea, Madi Sakandé chief among them, it is "the symbol of a profession that is becoming more professional, more organized, and asserting its identity." This tireless advocate for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector in Africa believes that African refrigeration is progressing, and that U 3ARC is the driving force behind it.

The overwhelming response to the call for this unprecedented initiative, launched by the Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was the catalyst. Hopefully, this demonstration of strength, discipline, and commitment to advancing the refrigeration profession in Africa will set a precedent. In any case, U 3ARC confirms its ability to unite and take concrete action. The goal is to consolidate this leadership and provide it with the resources to achieve its ambitions for the growth of a sector vital to African continent.
