Regional Training and Certification Workshop for RAC Technicians in Cotonou

The training and certification of African Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians continues unabated. Last stage, co-organized by UN Environment (Ozone Action), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Environment and Climate, under the Beninese Ministry of Living Environment and Transport, and Centro Studi Galileo (where Madi Sakandé and Said El Harch are Trainers and Certifiers for the Italian institute expert in training and certification), a Regional Training and Certification Workshop for them, during 5 days in Cotonou, from June 3 to 7, 2024.

Training and certification of African refrigeration technicians has many benefits, both for individuals and for the continent as a whole. It is important that governments and international organizations invest in the training and certification of refrigeration technicians to boost economic development, protect the environment and improve public health in Africa.

On the sidelines of the training, Mr. Madi Sakandé and Mr. Said El Harch, president and SG of U-3ARC, took the opportunity to meet, Wednesday June 5, 2024, members and supporters of the National Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning of Benin (ANFCB), headed by Mr. Lucien Amoussou, President ANFCB. The fruitful discussions focused on the future of the sector in this part of the continent. Such opportunities are indeed ideal for developing the first elements of a roadmap which will allow the anchoring of national associations within U-3ARC. All participants in the meeting thanked and congratulated the first representatives of U-3ARC for the approach undertaken to promote Refrigeration in Africa. They also promised to revitalize their association, through activities and the payment of their subscription and membership fees, to allow the influence of the refrigeration sector for the happiness of future generations of Africans.
